Pay periods per year
Weekly pay comes 52 times a year, biweekly 26 times, semi-monthly 24 times and monthly 12 times. Biweekly and semi-monthly are easy to confuse: biweekly paychecks are slightly smaller but there are two more of them.
Gross versus net
Applications for loans, apartments and credit cards usually ask for gross annual income: the total before taxes and deductions. That is what this calculator shows. Include regular bonuses, commission and side income when a form asks for total income.
