      Formula

Days between = end date − start date
      Inclusive days = days between + 1
Weeks = days ÷ 7, remainder shown as days

      How to use it

      1. Choose the start and end dates in either order.
      2. Decide whether the end date itself should be counted.
      3. Read the total days, or use the row in the unit you need.

      Years, months, days
      11 months, 24 days

October 1 to October 31, 2026, counting both days

      Weekdays (Mon–Fri)

      Inclusive or exclusive?

From Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 days by subtraction but 5 days if you count both ends. Contracts, medication courses and “number of days on site” usually count both; elapsed time, age and interest usually do not. If a deadline matters, check which convention the document uses.

      Questions people ask

How many days are there between two dates?

Subtract the earlier date from the later one. January 1 to December 25, 2026 is 358 days, or 51 weeks and 1 day.

How many weekdays are in a year?

A common year has 260 or 261 weekdays and a leap year 260 to 262, depending on which day January 1 falls on. Public holidays are not removed here; use the business days calculator for that.
