Daylight saving catches people out
The US and Canada change clocks on the second Sunday of March and first Sunday of November. Europe changes on the last Sundays of March and October. For two to three weeks each spring and one week each autumn, New York and London are 4 hours apart instead of 5. Most of Arizona, Hawaii, and countries such as Japan, China and India do not change at all.
Scheduling across zones
For a meeting between the US West Coast and Europe, late morning Pacific time is early evening in Central Europe. Between the US East Coast and India, the overlap is early morning Eastern, which is evening in India. Always send the invitation with a named time zone.
