Good to know
The cup, pint, quart and gallon here are US customary measures. An imperial gallon, used in the UK, is 4.54609 liters — about 20% larger than the US gallon of 3.785 liters — and is listed separately.
For cooking, a US cup is 236.6 mL, a tablespoon is 14.8 mL and a teaspoon is 4.9 mL. Many recipes round these to 240, 15 and 5 mL.
