Why recovering takes so long
Every class you attend adds to both the attended and the held totals, so the percentage climbs slowly. At 35 of 50 (70%), reaching 75% takes 10 straight classes — 45 of 60 — even though you are only 2.5 classes short today.
Common thresholds
Many colleges, particularly in India, require 75% attendance to sit exams. In US schools, a student is generally counted as chronically absent after missing 10% or more of school days — about 18 days of a 180-day year — whether the absences are excused or not.
